- First thing we did was cut back on Cell Carrier features, for example: Remove Caller ID/waiting/voicemail etc.. everything but the data package! For a total savings of $45 per month!
- Purchased Acrobits Soft-phone from iTunes App Store (link below)
- Then in settings/add-ons in Acrobits, purchase the G.729 codec Lic for $9.99 USD
- We then configured the Acrobits soft-phone to use push services & pointed the software towards our DurhamVoIP servers in the pre-configured providers (look for DurhamVoIP.net )
- Dialed *98 to setup our voice-mail (greetings etc.)
- And then started using Acrobits as our primary phone.
- We started to enjoy all the VoIP features (caller id, call waiting and voice mail) without paying for them on a monthly basis!
